KARATE MUMS //

A SPECIAL MOTHERS DAY EVENT//

Mother’s Day Special at Shotokan Karate Ryu

The Mother’s Day celebration at Shotokan Karate Ryu was not your typical brunch or flower-giving event. Instead, this year, the karate school decided to put a twist on the traditional celebrations by hosting a special karate lesson for mothers and their children.

The special event kicked off early in the morning. Mothers, along with their energetic kids, filled the karate dojo, their excitement and anticipation creating a vibrant atmosphere. The lesson began with some light warm-up exercises to get everyone moving. Gradually, the participants started learning new karate techniques, guided by the experienced instructors of Shotokan Karate Ryu. The session was filled with laughter, cheer, and a lot of high-fives as mothers and their children encouraged each other, creating a wonderful bonding experience.

The event concluded with a feedback session, where the mothers shared their thoughts. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with one mother stating, “I never thought I’d be spending Mother’s Day in a dojo, learning karate with my child. But it was an amazing experience, something unique and fun that I will remember for a long time.”

The Mother’s Day special at Shotokan Karate Ryu was indeed a memorable event, creating a new tradition of celebrating motherhood in a unique and engaging way.

“I never thought I’d be spending Mother’s Day in a dojo, learning karate with my child. But it was an amazing experience, something unique and fun that I will remember for a long time.”

The Shotokan Karate Ryu has been teaching traditional Karate in Bishops Stortford and Stansted for over 20 years, and believes that karate is more than just a physical activity. It teaches discipline, respect, and self-confidence. Sensei Donna, 5th Dan, commented “it was wonderful to see the mothers and their children learning together and I’m pleased that some have enquired about coming back”

Thank you to all the mothers who joined us for this special event. We hope you had a great time and that you will continue to support your children in their karate journey. And to all the fathers out there, don’t worry, we have something special planned for you too!”.
