A Karate-filled Father’s Day: Shotokan Karate Ryu’s Special Lesson for Dads

This year, Father’s Day at Shotokan Karate Ryu was a unique celebration as we continued our tradition of inviting fathers to participate in a complimentary karate lesson with their children. The event was, once again, a huge success!

Bright and early on Sunday, fathers and their eager children arrived, ready to dive into the world of karate. The day kicked off with a series of warm-up exercises, followed by an introduction to some exciting new karate techniques. The enthusiasm radiating from both fathers and children was truly infectious.

After the memorable lesson, we managed to catch up with some of the fathers to hear about their experience. One dad, still catching his breath, shared, “This lesson was a real eye-opener. The amount of detail in karate is really something. It was an experience I won’t forget.”. The beaming smiles on the faces of the dads, mirroring their children’s delight, said it all.

“This lesson was a real eye-opener. The amount of detail in karate is really something. It was an experience I won’t forget.”

Shotokan Karate Ryu, with a rich history of over two decades in teaching traditional Karate in Bishops Stortford and Stansted, emphasises that karate is not just about physical strength but also about fostering discipline, respect, and self-esteem. Sensei Donna, 5th Dan, remarked, “It was a heartening sight, fathers and children learning and growing together.”

We extend our gratitude to all the fathers who made this day special by joining us. We hope you enjoyed this unique bonding opportunity and that you will continue to help your children on their karate journey. For all the supportive mums, stay tuned. We have an exciting surprise in store for you too!
