“The Shotokan Karate Ryu is one of the outstanding clubs in England, with the highest standards of Karate from students and instructors. It is always a pleasure to visit the club for Dan gradings to watch the excellent standards of Karate and to know that the high standards of traditional karate are being retained. The Shotokan Karate Ryu has a proud heritage and a standard at black belt that any club would be proud of.”

- Sensei Dave Sharkey, 9th Dan

Happy Students

SKR is a great Karate school, and we have always been made to feel welcome. Sensei Donna is very organised always keeping you updated. The students are very fond and always speak highly of her.
My son has made great progress, is encouraged and supported to reach the next belt at regular gradings and loves it when he gets to help younger students.
The lessons are fun and there is no pressure to do the gradings.
Highly recommended.

Kelly Gould

“I have trained on and off for many years with different clubs never really advancing. Both of you have inspired and encouraged me to pursue my black belt, and the boys getting theirs on the same night was the icing on the cake.”

- Chris Seal

My sons love karate and Sensai Donna is wonderful with them. Karate has helped with building self esteem and confidence, especially for one of my boys. I think this ability to express himself physically has also helped with emotional health and communication skills.

- Liz Medcraft

Your class is fantastic and gives Luca great physical exercise and mental stability. Thanks a lot for teaching him over the years! Karate became a part of his life.

Roland Burli

What I like best is that my son and I can train together. Not something that many other clubs offer.

Charles Forrester

My son Henry has been doing karate with Sensei Donna since he was 4. Tiger Tots was brilliant for his confidence and Sensei Donna is so great with the children. He loves being a Junior now and is always so proud of his achievements at Gradings! SKR is a supportive and well run karate school which builds skills and confidence.

Philippa Mills

My son has been attending classes from a young age (now 9). He really enjoys the classes and obtaining the belts. Classes are run extremely well, I would recommend any parent looking for a class to attend

How do you do it?
We drop a grumpy fed up moody teenager off and you transform him into a pleasant young man in just an hour of Karate?

I am wondering if I could hire you for the homework battle.?
